Every Rotary year carries a theme, and 2023–2024's was Create Hope in the World. For Accra-Ring Road Central, that meant a catalogue of projects spanning nearly every one of Rotary's areas of focus.
The year opened with the District 9102 Green Ghana initiative — 350 seedlings planted at the University of Ghana Sports Complex in partnership with Rotary RRC and Rotary District 9104, safeguarding the environment alongside Rotary partners. It continued with the Drive Safe Campaign, the club's flagship road-safety programme honouring Rtr. Adjoa Bortsewah Mensah, a member lost in a road accident on the N4 — over 500 road users received free eye screening and documentation support through partnerships with DVLA, the Ghana Police MTTD, and the National Road Safety Commission.
Health stayed central throughout: the club's charter-anniversary breast cancer screening, the Hewale and Odwira medical outreaches, and the district-wide Pint of Hope blood donation drive all ran within the year. On literacy, Tech and Tales delivered a refurbished ICT facility and 20 computers to a school in Nima, while the Poetry Challenge and Writing Clinic — run with the Interact Club of Accra Girls — gave young writers tools, mentors, and a stage.
Community economic development wasn't left out either — from the SkillUp Juniors vocational training at Mother's Nest to the Akateng Life Jackets & Relief effort supporting flood-affected residents along the Volta Lake. Taken together, it's a year that lived up to its theme: hope, created one project at a time.
