Chartered on Breast Cancer Awareness Day
The Rotaract Club of Accra-Ring Road Central was chartered on 13 October 1995 — which, coincidentally, is World Breast Cancer Day. It's a coincidence the club has never let pass quietly. Every year on our charter anniversary, RRC runs a breast cancer screening and awareness campaign, leaning on in-club medical personnel and partners including the University of Ghana Medical Student Association, Aminu Initiatives, and Dr. DoGood to reach members of the public with screening, sensitization, and education on risk factors. It's a fitting way to mark the day the club was founded: not just looking back at three decades of service, but using the anniversary itself to do more of it. Early detection saves lives, and for one day a year, that's exactly what our charter date is in service of.
